Hi Team,
regarding this shortcut(Edit->Block->Strip First Character Alt+Z)
from time to time, it ends up triggering the "Strip First Character" function due to a slip of my hand(because the other useful key, e.g.: alt+x, alt+c, or alt+a, etc are nearby), while i didn't mean it, and i know there's the Ctrl+Z to withdraw the previous mistaken step, but most of the time, i even didn't notice it, because as we can see, it's just 1 first character.
some other user maybe face the similar scenario(maybe just different command/shortcut with mine), so all in all, it's meaningful to have this function, which will make this version more popular for some user like me(i have currently change my default text handling application to UltraEdit just due to this point, because it's always not happy when you found you missed the first character in the other day and there's nothing else that you can do then except trying hard to remember back).
so the suggestion/expectation here is: in the setting, it supports setting the shortcut as we wish to leave blank or modify.
by the way, i had expected notepad2 to optimise this point, but there's the tip of "This repository has been archived by the owner. It is now read-only." in https://github.com/XhmikosR/notepad2-mod/, which makes it notepad3 is my hope currently. ^^
thanks for your understanding and possible optimisation.

It is always a problem to change a long lasting and established keyboard shortcut 馃.
_Discussion:_
Would it be helpful if this shortcut will be applied only on Selected Text ?
(Then, to apply this function on complete text, you have to select all (Ctrl+A) first.) ?
Feel free to test the BETA version "Notepad3Portable_5.20.504.1_BETA.paf.exe.7z" or higher.
See "Notepad3 BETA-channel access #1129" or here Notepad3Portable_5.20.504.1_BETA.paf.exe.7z
_Note1:_ "Notepad3Portable PAF" can be used in "2 flavors", see with or without extension ".7z".
_Note2:_ If you follow the instructions #1105, you can also update your "Notepad3 Installer version" with the latest BETA version (see #1129).
Your comments and suggestions are welcome... 馃槂

Helle @RaiKoHoff ,
It's fine for me, I find it a good idea. 馃憤
If OK, I will modify the menu in all languages in consequence...

hi @RaiKoHoff (@hpwamr )
it's ok for me currently, i don't know other users of notepad2/3, but personally i'm not coding-purpose for this application, the motive is notepad2/3 is light-weight of notepad, while Ultraedit is much more coding-purpose and medium/heavy--weight of notepad... what i'm trying to say here is:
seldomly i use Strip First Character or other command, so i think it's PERFECT to leave it BLANK/modify for the user kind like me, thus we can reduce the misoperation chance in minimum level.
thanks for prompt reply, it's sooner than i expected. ^&^
Hello @bravo-hero ,
As far as I'm concerned, I think you (requester) can close this issue...
hi...
@RaiKoHoff @hpwamr
how about leaving it BLANK/modify the shortcuts, which would be perfect IN THE LONG TERM?
thanks.
@hpwamr : No need to adapt all languages, cause Alt-Z will stay in functionality, the only change would be to disable it, if no selection is active and this is centralized for all languages ... 馃槈 .
@bravo-hero : a long-term shortcut configuration is somewhere in the development backlog, but priority is quite low 馃槥.

maybe i just think it's too simple to implement, while what i mean in this issue is a bunch of similar shortcuts, maybe around 10 or 20 there, so...yup, it takes some time or phase to go there, but i assume it's quite meaningful when this configuration is carried out, maybe we can call it Notepad4 or Notepad5...^^
Ultraedit is just a backup(subscription fee is not worthy to mention though here, we care about the functionality itself ^^), as i mentioned initially, i didn't want to use it, i prefer Notepad2/3, but this tricky bug push me away (not 1 time, but several times, honestly i also just notice this shortcut to cause this so-called "bug" recently).
for me, no other big bug there, for this, according to your priority list, i just expect it then. ^^
@RaiKoHoff @hpwamr, thanks for both of your input here.
