Facebook-for-woocommerce: Facebook for WooCommerce will not update to 1.9.12

Created on 7 Jun 2019  路  10Comments  路  Source: facebookincubator/facebook-for-woocommerce

My Facebook for WooCommerce plugin says an update is available (1.9.12)

  • If I update on plugins page, it says it succeeded, but upon refresh, the plugin has not updated.
  • If I try to update from Updates page, I get An error occurred while updating Facebook for WooCommerce: Update package not available.

If the above steps did not help, please provide the following information in your next comment in order for us to debug your problem:
WooCommerce version - 3.6.4
WordPress version - 5.2.1
Plugin version (please note: we only support up-to-date versions of the plugin) - 1.9.10

I had this problem back in February. As I do again. It has to do with the Facebook devs not updating the version of the plugin in the WooCommerce repository. When they eventually get around to doing this (it took them a week last time), everything will update through the dashboard.

I can't figure out how they expect users to update if they don't provide the means that 99% of their plugin users utilize to do that!

Great. Thanks for letting me know. I gave it a few days and decided to report after that. Glad to know it's not just me.

Same issue of @gaiusjaugustus, we are waiting for Facebook to update the plugin version in the WooCommerce repository ...

I also have the same issue as @gaiusjaugustus and @threemind and was just going to report it here. I am glad I found this thread. I've downloaded and uploaded the Facebook for WooCommerce extension 3 times thinking it was something I did. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

The plugin don update from 1.9.10 to 1.9.14!

I solved the update from 1.9.10 to 1.9.12 by downloading the master from github, the next update to 1.9.13 worked as wordpress, now the update to 1.9.14 fails and I found installed 1.9.10 (mystery).
Deactivate 1.9.10, downloaded 1.9.14 and install, after deleted 1.9.10.
No missing previous setup, only reload api key.

I deactivated 1.9.10, deleted, and reinstalled 1.9.14 from Wordpress Add New Plugin tool. Didn't have to reload api key or anything. This worked for me.

@gaiusjaugustus, @threemind , thank you for the helpful info on how you resolved the issue. My issue is now resolved using your suggestions. I downloaded the 1.9.14 master zip file from Github, went to my site's Plugin section, used "Add New Plugin" and the "upload" button, to upload the zip file and install it. It works perfectly and I no longer get the version release errors. The release version is also reflecting the latest version 1.9.14. I think the key to preventing the errors is to download the master file from Github instead of the Woocommerce site.
