Created on 1 Jan 2020  Â·  27Comments  Â·  Source: yuzu-emu/yuzu

Many AMD Navi users have reported graphical bugs in Super Mario Odyssey on the Vulkan API Backend

Here is one such issue in the title screen
Navi 1

And another example in gameplay (Sand Kingdom)
navi 2

These Examples are on an AMD Navi 5700XT

bug vulkan

Shouldn't there only be issues opened which occur in the master branch?

Can you provide a log with graphics debugging enabled? It can be found in the Debug tab. You'd also require a Vulkan SDK installed.

hey, attached is a log from the title screen with navi and vulkan active (the artifacts are visible just like in the first screenshot)...
grafix debug was active...
yuzu_log.txt

And the Vulkan SDK was installed...
If you can give any clue about which shader is misrendered here, we could maybe just exclude it in a custom fix pack?

Persists with the current 20.1.4 driver.

I'm having the same issue here. 5700XT with driver 20.2.1. Any known workaround?

Actually the only workaround is to use linux.

Any solution?, i have amd 5700xt with cpu ryzen7 2700. Opengl not playable (very slow speed) and vulkan graphics glitch and not sync sound....

@Jackalito @ZantsuRocks @emudem In the Yuzu discord there was a user (Kenshi) who shared a mod which disables deffered shading, however it does have other side effects.

@losh11 i can't find that mod.

@ZantsuRocks as mentioned, I had to PM @kenshi on the yuzu discord. I do have the mod, but I'm not sure if they're okay with me sharing it.

Post mod here, please

The mod don't work in the title screen. So if you still see the black squares in your title screen, go on and try ingame.

In gameplay is best image.

here on official yuzu site you can download the mod and some more: https://yuzu-emu.org/wiki/switch-mods/
But for me, the shading mod did not change anything even ingame...

@msconfig87 same here, the mod does nothing.

It only works on version 1.0 of the game. Are you using that one?

no, 1.3. ok lets hope this bug can be fixed for the navi cards

1.1.0 here.

Shadow of distant objects after EA 606 is somewhat fixed.
Approaching the objects bugs the shadows again.

@ZantsuRocks can you share a screenshot of this please?

Is this latest screen with or without the 'disable deferred shading' mod?
With Big Navi about to release, it is possible that this problem may be
experienced by the new AMD cards also...

The deferred shading mod does remove the dark shadows, however I am still experiencing some graphical glitches.

After Texture Cache rewrite the black shadows never appeared again.
There are some minor visual glitches that randomly appear but almost imperceptible.

So #4967 fixes this. Will text, thank you!

Seems like #4967 fixes most of the issues, however some remains, will post screenshots tomorrow.
