Web-stories-wp: Possible bug with the last elementor update?

Bug Description

When i try to open the web story editor it always appear a strange error " {"message":"Server error, see Elementor => System Info"}"

Expected Behaviour

Open the web story editor

Steps to Reproduce

Click on "edit" or create a new story

Had the same problem for hours. Eventually i found out it was the elementor plugin and had to downgrade back to the version before.

Yeah, downgrading brings back template. But Elementor V3.0.0 definitely breaks some templating on the back office.

Same here. Since I upgraded my WP version. Had to downgrade Elementor to 2.9. Any solution?

Downgrading seems the only way as of now...

Thanks for reporting everyone! I haven't been able to reproduce the issue myself after updating to Elementor 3.0.0, so I'm curious what else could be involved.

If you are still on the most recent version, could you let us know if excluding the _Stories_ post type under _Elementor > Settings> General_ helps resolve the issue: https://jmp.sh/1sLO76Y ?

@marcel-za thanks for the info. For the Web Stories plugin, could you attempt to exclude the story post type as noted before? It appears there are several reports regarding the recent Elementor update.

I just want to precise that I'm not using the web story plugin, so the bug is not relative to it. The error appears on the regular wordpress Gutenberg editor. It's an Elementor bug I guess.

I had that option unchecked, i tried anyway to check and uncheck but no way that works, it seems an elementor problem
