Vgstation13: Healing Hands genetic power

I'll probably code it soon. My plan is to make it so you can toggle it off/on with a HUD button, with cooldowns automatically

For the below, when I say "every damage", I mean the four main ones: Oxyloss, Brute, Burn, and Toxin.

It being every one of the four damages is up for debate, it could just be brute/burn. Numbers are changeable, it could be 1-1 for cloneloss/heal ratio, it could be 1/4, it could be 3/4, I don't really care.

Options, unless someone has a better one:

  1. Heals a large amount of every damage when you touch someone. Applies half of the damage _you actuall healed_ to yourself in the form of clone damage. No cooldown on use.
  2. Heals a small amount of every damage when you touch someone. Applies no damage to you. Has cooldown.
  3. Heals a small amount of every damage when you touch someone. You take half of the damage you heal as the same damage type. Cannot heal self, for obvious reasons. No cooldown.

You seem to be forgetting that Geneticists do not care about their fellow man in the slightest and only interact with other sapient creatures when they are antags that have got all of their superior ubermensch powers ready to slaughter.

I like number 1, it reminds me of a whole bunch of different sci fi episodes that have done it, which is solid proof its a good idea.

However I think it would be highly exploitable with two people using it on each other (unless it doesn't heal clone damage).

Thats why we need donutstation, genetics being squirreled away in the center of medbay is a cancer killing one of our most important jerbs.

Genetics having a public desk like robotics and able (and also heavily encouraged) to sell genetic powers is needed badly.

really cool idea but seems better suited for viro or xenoarch.

Why not be able to damage ourselves to heal wounds on others?

I think that to fit in genetics it should be more like the cold power, very weak to be click and forget and without a side effect.

CR has a side effect, you can't use cryo anymore.

Not the personal cold, the power to cool someone else.

I like option three. Clone damage can only be healed via rezadone or cryo, which would mean pretty much no one would use the power since it'd be such a nuisance to get rid of the resulting damage to themselves.

3rd option on a diona with borer would be funny
