I got the exact same error as soon as I clicked on "by type", and it stays blank even after a refresh.

Ugh, I guess I wasn't running locally when I fixed that. Will be. Awhile before I'm home to fix. You can get around this temporarily by clearing local storage.
I can confirm that I got the same issue when enabling group accounts, and then enabling group by type. Specifically, none of the Toolkit reports show up after those get enabled. Furthermore, I removed those key/value pairs from local storage and got the reports to show back up again. Hopefully this is helpful.
If you don't want to clear all variables from local storage (as it wipes some settings like e.g. custom flag names), you can look for the key ynab-toolkit-balance-over-time-shouldGroupAccountsByType in the local storage and set it to false again.
Then you can access the toolkit reports again.
Latest release v2.31.1 has fixed it for me. 馃檪馃憤

Please note, all browser can take up to an hour to provide updates to all users. You can force an update if it's available for you by going to chrome://extensions and clicking the "Update" button. Firefox users can go to about:addons, click the setting cog, and click "Check for updates...".
