Synergy-core: WIN+L locks Windows server when Mac client has focus

Created on 14 Sep 2016  路  2Comments  路  Source: symless/synergy-core

v1.82-stable

This behavior is mentioned in #5574.

To reproduce:

  1. Set up Windows server with Mac client, Mac client oriented on left. No other configuration.
  2. Move cursor to Mac client.
  3. Press WIN+L (translated as CMD+L on Mac).
  4. Windows server's screen locks, disconnecting Mac client.

Desired behavior: WIN+L is treated as CMD+L by the Mac client and is ignored by the Windows server.

This is the one shortcut I've found so far where the server is too aggressive with the input. WIN+Space, WIN+I, WIN+X are all (properly!) ignored by the server when pressed on the client.

It's also a common shortcut, being CMD+L to hit the URL bar in web browsers.

Improved lock screen behaviour is planned for 1.8.4 (with luck). Note that 1.8.3 will have the option to prevent the disconnect when the screen locks, if nothing else.

@zbrook Somewhat unrelated to the ticket, but on both my Linux and Windows box I can use both CtrlL and CtrlE to focus the address bar in all my browsers. Perhaps CmdE can be used on the Mac as a workaround to your problem?
