A typical use case for me is to share links when I am in a call, or message people that I can't answer them because I am in a call.

100% agree

How difficult would this be to implement?

thanks a lot! It would be very useful to me, too! I love Signal and I love what you do, keep going!

@GaPhil I think version 1.37.1 which includes picture-in-picture fixes this issue.

Currently I solve this by calling via my phone, and chat on desktop in parallel

This has been implemented in v1.37.1. Hence, I'm closing this. Thanks! 馃檪

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in v1.39.6 (Debian Buster) there doesn't seem to be a chat functionality during calls.

@benjamir You need to click the icon in the very top right to pop the call out into its own little window. Then you can use the rest of the app as normal.

@scottnonnenberg-signal Indeed, works flawlessly. Much appreciated. After your hint, I'm baffled I missed it ;-)
