I make OpenSUSE RPM when is this allowed.
Please use the issue template when creating new issues. Or if your GitHub client does not show it, file a bug report to it's issue tracker.

From what I've read, this won't be happening. At least not by the official team.
Is there any actively maintained fork for a desktop? not a chrome web-browser.
@jangorecki There was talk of a Java client in the mail list. Don't know how it's going and I don't really care since it will probably never be up to par with Signal-Chrome
@shvchk, this so-called standalone requires another dependency instead of Chrome, which is NodeJS.
What we need is a truly portable Windows binary to work right out of the box, like Telegram does.
What we need is a C library, so it will be easier to write various types of apps, or a Pidgin plugin.

Though I am pretty sure you do not want a C library. There are better programming languages around which are capable of producing a shared object with a C ABI, which you can link against anything you want.
