thats what the mods look for. before there is ever an ipban it is talked about and it has to be agreed upon.

Do you know a person who is willing to join in last gov as a losing team? for example would YOU willingly join to fill in for a lib who afked in a game with fas majority and lose YOUR winrate cause someone else decided to dodge the loss... etc. etc.

We had this discussion in Discord, but I figured I'd leave it here as well:

Filtering out offensive words can be tricky. If you filter out a word such as "cum" then you'd also be filtering out "cumulative" "cumulus" "cumin" "document" "cucumber" etc.

Also, words that are offensive are usually offensive only to some people, or in some situations but not all. If everybody is ok with "crap" being said, there's no problem with it being said there.

To top it off, filtered words are too easily circumvented (another "cum" word) by just misspelling it somehow. For example, "fuck -> fucc" or something similar.

Overall, filtering words doesn't really work, ESPECIALLY if you plan on having an automated punishment for saying a filtered word.

The way some games do their join ins in mid game is that you don't lose EXP or affect any rank because you joined mid game, I feel like that would be justified if you join in mid game that you don't deserve to lose your win rate and even if you win you don't get that win counted towards your win rate.

~ This will be a hard one to implement due to the user's ability to just variate the word. Possible way around it would be to allow the player himself write a list of words he would like to see blocked, with the warning that some words would have to be inevitably banned as well.

~ This is possible but will be severely limited to words that are deemed explicit or offensive no matter the context. Mods could jump in here checking logs with wrongful bans/ kicks.

~ This is another hard one to implement. Filling a spot if hard as the person filling the spot would have a very hard time as he loses out on a lot information in the front of the game. A way to help this would be to give the player coming in information on the previous players picks and some time for him to understand it, before he chooses whether to participate. If a match is not found in a certain period of time, the game ends in a draw. Mods can jump in if it were a clear win ( or maybe have an option to contest ).

~ Auto bans are a double edged sword. It could go very badly if it were to ban wrongfully. Test server could be used here to check and test. IP Bans are something very powerful, and you won't want to have it abused. Serial AFKers should not be IP banned, but instead a penalty on their elo or even ban times (This will hurt more and prevent collateral damage). Finally the point has been reiterated in my 2nd last point.

Also, maybe have AFK forgiveness, i.e. if someone AFKs in your game, there's no penalty.

if you take out some very racist words then on some they will just stop and will filter some of the racist wording and would be great for making the problem smaller
