I think this is a good idea. (Although, I wonder if people will write their bad words l-i-k-e-t-h-i-s or something else that evades the filter...)

And I think the first and maybe last letter should be visible.

I misspoke - I thought Hexi's recent commit prevented sending of chats with 'bad words' - turns out it only temporarily warns users. (This issue is still valid - my bad)

Bad word filter now stops people from chatting, lobby chat only as of now until fixed. Issue can be closed.
