Sorry for the terse question. I wanted to know if the request was for a full move (i e just changing the owner) or a copy-with-slight-modification? I think the latter is what @heronikdin wants.

The request comes from a user ticket in our support system. Users from an institute (case owner) feel like they want to archive a case (so that it's not shown on top and they don't have to take care of it any more), while a collaborator from another institute wants it to stay active (or any other status) and keep working with what has been previously done. Something like that!

Change institute or "deep" copy?

All the variants, and the events?

Hi, sorry to interupt this issue... I dont know if it is allowed, but I read it and realized this is exactely what we also need.
This is something we (cust087 clinic hematology and the new cust109 research hematology) are interested in too. We would like to transfer some of the samples from the clinics cust087 to research hematology cust109..

No worries, there is absolutely no interruption in here, and it's actually very good to have a discussion with the users to understand which features they need so we can prioritize the tasks! You're welcome to interrupt all over the place 馃槅

great! :) We would like to transfer the "whole" case, not loosing any information of course. For us this actually has a high priority for the moment, as we have cases that we need to transfer so that the newly employed postdoc can work on in the research view page.

You should be able to share already now. Would that be sufficient?

By using the sharing function, the post-doc would also be able to directly take advantage of any later progress on the clinical side and vice versa.

I can absolutely understand that there may be situations where you want to diverge, creating two branches from the same base analysis.

I take it you are also aware that a completely clean copy of the case for another institute can be obtained via orders from the order portal (cg-web)?

To share a case with the research institute, first on your institute settings page check the institutes that you wish to be able to share with:

then on the case page, share it!

@dnil thank you Daniel! :) I will try to share a case as soon as I have access to cust109 (newly created) hematology research. I did not know about the sharing function, and for now I think that will work fine!

Gotcha! Deep copy then, or possibly introducing a new status level? Perhaps we should brainstorm a bit about that later?

The "archived" level anyway causes some confusion. It is used for "clinically without anomaly" in contrast to "solved", but also sometimes means "can be deferred to long term storage", while that is also generally understood from "solved". We already have "research" from the opening of the research list, but there is generally no way to indicate that research is pending, has begun or has finished - except from "archive"/"solved" or creative use of user assignment.

Sorry, my bad, I wrote archived but what I meant is that case owner just wants the case not to show up again (like they're done with it). Perhaps it would be easier to just introduce an option to "hide" some cases for an institute, this case the owner, while their collaborators can still see and work with them. That would solve the issue and perhaps it would be an easier option I think.
On the other hand it's dangerous: think if one of your colleagues clicks on "hide case" by mistake and the case is left unsolved..
