Papirus-icon-theme: Arc Theme not development anymore

Hi all. Papirus recommend use Arc Dark for better loooking. But my favorite GTK Theme Arc not development anymore :( See last commit created 12 May: https://github.com/horst3180/arc-theme/commits/master
Maybe anybody fork this perfect theme and update for new GTK? Or maybe another ideas?
Soon Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and this theme most likely will not work. Firefox Arc no longer works now with new version...

I hate GTK and GNOME!!! Fucking devs always broken compatibility with every new release.
Now i'm migrate to KDE again and happy, because Qt not have this problem. All worked fine with Arc KDE + Arc GTK, but i think for GTK3-apps soon there will be problems :(

GTK3 (3.22) is in maintenance mode actually. There won't be any API breakages.
GTK4 though will be another pair of shoes.

Do you know Adapta?
It is being maintained towards GTK4.

Flat-Plat and Pop are other active themes.

Flat-Plat & Adapta very cool themes, but if adapt Papirus for this themes, we have broken Arc KDE :(

Pop it's fork Flat-Plat. But you not understand me. We create more themes/skins for Arc KDE. If we adap icon theme for Flat-Plat/Adapta/Pop we must create tools for KDE... It's hard and long work:

@tsujan What decoration you use for Adapta on KDE? Breeze have light line on the sides

You mean KvAdapta (which I made recently)? I use it under LXQt with Compiz+Emerald -- made an Emerald theme for it -- but under KDE or with kwin, an Aurorae theme can be made for it. Unfortunately, with the current direction of Plasma5 (QML and its related stuff), the future of Aurorae isn't secure, so I don't include any Aurorae theme in Kvantum.

I meant Aurorae might not be supported in future; otherwise, it's completely secure. Actually, it's the best KDE decoration ever.

Yes it is. Worse than that is QML's invasion. That's why I use KDE only for testing Kvantum (and my other programs) under it.

BTW, this is Dolphin with KvAdapta and an Emerald decoration (under LXQt):

Any Aurorae decoration would look better without borders (because of the dark toolbar).

BTW, I completely agree with you about Gnome (as you said on this page). I was a happy gnome2 user and programmed in GTK. When Gnome3 came out, I tolerated it until v3.4 but, after that, enough was enough. I migrated to KDE and started programming in Qt. Qt was far better than GTK but had a drawback: its themes were too elementary. Therefore, I started to make Kvantum ;)

Yes, with that dark toolbar, an Adapta Plasma theme may not be really like Adapta.

I think it's impossible, because KDE not have class for pop-up menu background and buttons/icons - used colors from main plasma window

Although I don't use KDE, I had a small suggestion. If you make a Plasma theme for KvAdapta, it's better to reduce the text opacity a little and set it to 100% only on mouse-over. I really don't remember if that's possible with Plasma themes but the reason is that white texts will have a sort of "anti-aliasing" on very dark backgrounds if their opacity is < 100%.

Wow! Plasma5 is so poor in settings :( I guess that's because of QML.

I checked with LXQt panel right now and saw it accepted foreground colors like rgba(255,255,255,60%) -- I don't say anything about the possibility of different colors for different plugins. IMHO, this should be reported to KDE devs as a bug and not just as a feature request -- we aren't in 1980's, after all. I would report it if I was an active Plasma user.

@varlesh такой подход конечно не годится. Я уже все написал для агрегации цветных папок, скоро бранч https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-icon-theme/tree/color-folders смержу и утилиту выложу. Пока не заморичайся, я потом issue создам и все поправим.

@SmartFinn Сереж, привет. Слушай, а в Adapta какой цвет юзается для значков панели? Глянь плиз в гноме или юнити (хотя оно уже дисконтинуед и наверн лучше под гном подстраиваться). Я гугли прост, нефига толком чет не нашел.
gtk3-widget-factory показывает цвет значка #a5afb4 или #a3acb1 а текст #cfd8dc.
