Notepad3: make as /set as /replace default text editor

to add option make as /set as default text editor or replace windows notepad. most wide-known, for example, task managers have this option. candidly, i see especial setup file at first time instead of this simplest option.

I think this is an issue for the Installer, not NP3 itself.

hmm, must not be set to vote.. take the replacer installer :
at the homepage-> Downloads-> notepad3 -> download

notepad3 use the Innosetup therewith can you use the /verysilent switch for install

a "/setasdefaulteditor" is unnecessary because it exist a replacer ..

Hang on before you close this issue. Lets discuss it first.

... the reason is not "shady" but clear: a question of responsibility:

• the editor itself is not responsible for setting (and restoring back old)
  OS's default tool for editing text files
• the OS provided tools should do this task, maybe assisted by a wrapping
  setup/installer for convenience...
  and, as i understand, NP3's setup installer is able to do this (if OS's
  default text editor is system's notepad).

... keeping Notepad3 slim and fast ... ;-)

let's imagine. somebody installed "Notepad3 Setup (Replace Windows Notepad)" version. after several times he wants to see native notepad or another editor as default application, but still use np3, simultaneously. what should he do in this situation. uninstall existing version, download other one and reinstall with new one.
in other words, if you want to see "Notepad3 became most popular Windows Notepad replacement" then the editor itself will be able to be responsible for setting (and restoring back old) os's ...

Most application that replace the default notepad would do the replacement themselfs.
To restore notepad, just uninstall notepad3 and reinstall the often updated version.
