Temporarily fix is to disable the ‘Enhanced Slack sharing’ feature in SEO>General>Features.
Hello @kasey-posterity! Can you please explain what do you mean by
our AMP pages are no longer validating.
these new tags which you see are coming from new feature Enhanced Slack sharing which was released in 15.2.
I am also experiencing the same issue with the AMP plugin.
We have accepted this bug, and it has been already added to our queue.
The fix will be released within the next version.
Disabling the ‘Enhanced Slack sharing’ feature in SEO>General>Features solved the problem for me
I don't know if I had to but I also updated the story in the plugin
But, the real point is: why you introduced this "Enhanced Slack sharing" buggy feature that invalidates all my AMP pages? In which way is related to SEO?
@dev-triboo You should read the information in SEO>General>Features>Enhanced Slack sharing and this is what it says:
This adds an author byline and reading time estimate to the article’s snippet when shared on Slack. Find out how a rich snippet can improve visibility and click-through-rate.
This is a useful feature but unfortunately this code has unintended consequences that corrupts the AMP stuff
So I think their intentions are good but the sad thing is that they are not addressing this bug perhaps as quickly as we might wish
Agreed with @dev-triboo. AMP invalidation leads to the automatic removal of pages from Top Stories.
This should be fixed with the 15.2.1 release of today (https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/change-log-wordpress-seo/) so I'm closing this.
