Tested Another Browser: Yes Chrome
Problem type: Something else
Description: Animations don't run smoothly in Firefox
Steps to Reproduce:
Images and animations in the HTML text contained in the web page move considerably slower in Firefox than in Chrome. In Chrome, all animations are fluid, playing at 60 frames per second. In Firefox, on the other hand, you can see that it is going at less frames per second. WebRender is enabled.

Thanks for the report, but I'm not able to reproduce the issue. For me average FPS is 58-59 and I don't see any difference between Firefox and Chrome.

@IngrownMink4 could you try clearing cache/data/cookies, disable Ad-blocker (if available), or use a clean profile, and check again?
I've tried what you mention, and the result is still the same. If you want, I can attach a screen recording to show you how it looks on my computer.
Thanks for your input @IngrownMink4, I think if you can record a performance profile, that will be more useful (Inspect Element>Performance>Start Recording Performance). Just save it, and add it here as zip archive and we will investigate it further.

I don't know if I caught it right but I did what I could 馃槄
profile.zip
Great.
@karlcow could you check the performance profile?
yes I don't have any issues on macbook pro. This is definitely CPU intensive, but this is smooth on my end. I wonder if it depends on specific GPU/Graphics card configuration.
But probably not a webcompat issue anyway.
The only animation which shows a difference for me in between chrome and firefox is the cat going from right to left

<marquee scrollamount="70"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3484/3696757249_d353f90a53_o.gif" width="139" height="200"></marquee>
and this one is a known issue.
