In case of problems, please provide info on a status page.
No afflilation with it, but for example https://www.statuspage.io/
Makes sense. Concept ACK.
I totally misunderstood this. I must have been really quick, because I thought this issue is about adding a new Status Tab about what peers people are connected to, Tor status, backend status, etc... So that's what I concept ACKed.
Regarding this issue, it's actually this one: https://github.com/zkSNACKs/WalletWasabi/issues/1110
My concern is that statuspage is kinda misleading, because our main issues are almost always with Tor. Adding it to the UI is also clutter.
I created an example page with UptimeRobot and put some basic requests inside. Can be more sophisticated but here is what it can do:
https://stats.uptimerobot.com/W7q65in4y
@nopara73 cluttered? It's just another menu item with all other menu items. And no, it's not only about Tor....
@molnard nice! Is there also a possibility to add a text alert manually? Eg. _Due to high load on the mempool CoinJoins are slow at the moment._ ?
@nopara73 The good thing about a status page is, that it works independent from Wasabi. It's readable even if you couldn't open the wallet itself.
The coordinator status should be listed as well @molnard .
It is a very simple interface and it is free. You cannot customize it in details. If we need more we have to write our own. But I don't think it is a good idea because in that case we would need another server, another server side program, domain things.. etc.
I can add more sensors by the way or change the text of the sensor but that is it.
Ok, feel free to setup and customize uptime robot, then let's add it to the About in the wallet. That should satisfy everyone right?
Keep it in the help menu as well. Often a request to the customer support can be answerd by visiting the status page in the forehand.
@lontivero what would you test about the wasabi server. We have http, ping, port and keyword (exist, not exist). Can we test these separately or does it make sense?
