Kicking isn't special in this regard. Pretty sure there's a lot of WAIT_FOR_CLICK spell abilities that are like this. I remember not being able to spit neurotox as a xeno while having a facehugger in my active hand.

Cant kick while cuffed either, if you're able to walk on your own free will you should be able to kick while cuffed but if grabbed and held in place/dragged around you shouldn't be able to.
