Monks only cost 10 gold, so they are weak deliberately in the game.
However they could be a little bit faster I suppose.
As for making Abbot a bit more of a threat (to other AI at least), one thing that could be done is making him send larger groups of monks on raids to destroy quarries, mines, farms etc. than he currently does (he can certainly afford it as he has an excellent economy), and if possible, making him send a few archers as well to support his monk raids.

Well I don't think Emir, Wazir, Phillip and Marshall need an increase (their raids are perfect as they are) as these four send enough troops in their raids (and the troops they send are quite strong) but all the other AI's could do with an increase in raiding troops. Even Sultan could send bigger groups of slingers to be more of an annoyance.
Of course you could argue that Richard is OK as he his with not sending many pikemen in a raid as his character is that of a lord focused on sieges and direct attacks to get to the enemy keep rather than raiding. But Wolf should maybe send more pikemen in raids I think.

Yeah, Wolf's 6-pikemen raids are a bit pathetic tbh.
As for monks, I think they're in a good spot atm. They're dirt cheap and have the fastest damage per second in the game. Their primary weakness is their speed and their vulnerability to ranged units. But once they're in their element they can be almost unstoppable.
On that topic, Abbot needs to protect his monks better from ranged units. I would suggest him using larger groups of archers both in attacks and roaming patrols. I would also suggest incorporating fire ballista into his siege forces.

Abbot already creates about 5 catapults in his sieges though, I suppose he could create 2 fire ballistae though in a siege though. He could also create and roll forward non siege fire ballistae at other times too.

Yep, he definitely should be changed to send a lot more in his raids I think, I really like how Emir sends loads of Arabian swordsmen in his raids to try and cause havoc to enemy economies and it would be great if Wolf could do the same with pikemen.

-The Monks need a little bonus of bow and crossbow resis
