Thegreatsuspender: bad site icon on tab

I got this error again.

scenario: open 2-3 new window and fill them with sites. сlose all windows one by one. open chrome. use ctrl+shift+t to return the closed windows.

Sometimes, besides a bad icon, I get this, after pressing f5, and page is displayed in the suspended state.

I've discovered this bug before and thought I had fixed it.
First can you confirm whether you can recreate this issue by simply closing a window with suspended tabs and then reopening it via ctrl+shift+t ? (ie. you shouldn't need to close chrome).

What should happen is that the window reappears and all the suspended tabs initially have the TGS icon. But after about 3 seconds the favicons will all update to their correct versions.

Can you also try testing with a window with A LOT of tabs, and one with just a few tabs? Does the bug happen on just one of them?

@MonsterNya for the second issue (the blank/white suspended tab), this seems like a suspended tab that failed to initialise.
I believe in a recent commit (the one to fix the bug where a tab would unsuspend if you suspend it while it's still loading), I made a change that should detect this and fix it when the problem tab gains focus.
Can you try the latest build and see if you can recreate? Thanks :)

ok. i think i know what is going on. the favicon check when tabs are restored with ctrl+shift+t only activates after the extension has been initialised. if you restore tabs or windows via this method when you first open chrome while the extension is still initialising, the check doesn't activate.

my guess is that this is a pretty niche situation. not a lot of people use the reopen closed tab feature. and doing this after a chrome restart is even rarer (i didn't even know that you could do this!).

so will probably just not worry about this particular bug. unless you disagree?

I always work with several windows to not keep 100+ tabs open in one winow. so I just need TGS. when I had 4GB of RAM, chrome itself was doing it, but now I have 16GB and chrome happily loads the processor by 101% when opened without an TGS.

The only option to close chrome with multiple windows is to close all windows in turn.
so to return them after closing the chrome, I use ctrl + shift + t. unless of course i use the session manager, but this is not convenient.

I tried to use ctrl + shift + t after the full load of the first window, then everything seems fine with the other windows.

Would it be possible to just add a "Refresh All Tab Icons" button/action while a more permanent solution is being devised?

At the moment, in the current version of TGS (not from the Google store), the problem of icons has been solved. bad icons can be obtained, only in one case, which I described above, this is due to the principle of loading extensions.
for a long time, I use ctrl + shift + t after waiting for a browser load and not getting "bad icons".

Using v7.0.109
After Chrome or Windows crash almost all tabs come back with GS icon. Love to have a button in settings to "Refresh All Tab Icons" as AronRubin suggests.

Try updating to the lastest webstore version (v7.1). This has some fixes for this issue.
If you're unable to update manually, you may need to uninstall / reinstall the extension. IMPORTANT: Make sure you unsuspend or back up all tabs first before uninstalling this extension!
