Simulate similar behaviour as web browsers (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, etc.)
No response to middle click. Need to use up/down key, page up/down, or use vertical scroll bar to go through chat history.

Yep love the idea! Just like a web-browser as implemented this.
Why do we need steps 2 and 3. Mouse wheel should just work when hovering over history.
Which it never was for a long time. I was very happy when it did start to work suddenly some weeks ago. But I guess since last update it stopped working. Sad. Restarts did not help.
Other then with Telegram I never had any issues with mouse wheel.

@zevero This is not just scrolling with a mouse wheel. This issue is about so called 'Auto-scroll'.

+1. I'm always annoyed by this behavior while using anything with trackpoint and three buttons / third button emulation.
Indeed in most cases (like it's default in Thinkpads) you can set middle click to scroll on driver level, but this blocks all the other possible middle-button-click actions in apps.
+1. My mouse wheel currently doesn't work and middle-button scrolling as described above is the only _decent_ alternative, besides using the arrow keys. I moved from Telegram Desktop to Telegram Web to avoid this "issue" but the latter has way less features.
