Tasks: [8.2.0] Checkbox colours in list lack "colour"

I just upgraded do 8.2.0 and noticed that checkboxes on task list look weird (lack colour intensity). After going over the changelog I noticed: "Desaturate theme colors in dark mode" - could this be reversed or at least configurable?
