i love the design and usability of Astrid/Tasks but personally chose to use a todo.txt as to do list of choice. unfortunately the mobile clients out there for todo.txt are not as pretty as Tasks.
it would be an amazing killer feature to sync Tasks with a todo.txt format textfile so it can be used as a mobile client in the todo.txt paradigm.
...and vice versa
+1
i dont know anything about todo.txt, but i wish i could sync my Tasks between devices without using google. I use owncloud to get away from google services, and it has plugins for Tomboy/Tomdroid and "MyOwnNotes" but is lacking one for Tasks. the .txt format would actually work really well for tomdroid because owncloud by default stores revision history of text files. text files are also editable via the web interface.
it's a feature request, but i think it's worthy of a bigger discussion.
There is also TaskWarrior, a free and opensource todo.txt evolution, that is feature packed and has an active and friendly community.
It includes a reliable server (Taskserver) that could be used as a sync/backup server.
personally i could never get the mirakel/taskwarrior server to work (oh lord did i try), nor do i want to run a separate piece of server software for this application when it seems like Tasks would naturally fit with owncloud. personal bias.
Now, there is quite a nice android app for todo.txt.
Maybe there could be a todo.txt file exported in the first step?
