Is there any way that you can make applications ignore specific keyboard shortcuts or even be blacklisted?
Skype for example uses alt + CMD + left_arrow/right_arrow to move between conversations and it would be good to still be able to use this without having to remap this shortcut in Spectacle settings.
Many thanks
Upvote! Many apps use this shortcuts. But I don't wont to search unique shortcuts - it's much easily to ignore some apps.
:ballot_box_with_check: me too
I run into this snag typically when trying to skip back a bit in the, say, podcast playing in iTunes, because ⌥⌘← (Opt-Cmd-Left arrow) is that combo...
Prefer that the _rule_ be that Spectacle is enabled, rather than what is being suggested in https://github.com/eczarny/spectacle/issues/261
Given that Spectacle is most often run in the Status Bar, it would be desirable if a user could open the application dropdown from the Status Bar and disable Spectacle for the program that they're currently on.
Spectacle would remember the programs for which it should be disabled.
This workflow is used by F.lux, and I find it intuitive.

I really like approach F.lux took, as pointed out by @Sheddybird. I'll investigate it further.

I guess most figure this out, but open the application where you want to disable Spectacle and press the Spectacle icon in your tray menu.
