Spectacle: "Maximize" window shortcut

Created on 8 Sep 2012  路  7Comments  路  Source: eczarny/spectacle

I use RightZoomp app to enable maximized windows when pressing the green "Zoom" button. I'd like to request a shortcut to trigger application of this button, so making posible to tile the windows, but also to restore the size of the window.

If it is useful to know, such shortcut is available in the SizeUp app.

Thanks for such a cool app!

I'm using the alt-cmd-F which does full screen, but not the OSX full screen behavior. it actually covers the entire viewable window, but not the top bar and lower bar. it seems to me that this is what you guys are after, not sure what it is that you're looking for other than that.

I came to request a shortcut to maximize windows without going full-screen -- for example, when I'm done using two windows at 50% and want to go back to maximized. Finding this issue that's been closed with no response is... odd. Was the request refused? Or is it already possible somehow?

I hate to jump on a long-closed issue, but I have the same question as @atuttle. Is this feature already possible and I am missing it? I definitely don't use fullscreen much (slightly more on Mavericks), but maximizing up to that point is very useful.

As a less-than-ideal workaround, it seems you can mash the "Make Larger" shortcut until it maxes out.

That does appear to work, thanks!

That's weird. I swear that was doing the nuclear full-screen option when I tried this application out the first time. I wonder if I missed something that changed. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hey all! I think using Alt-Cmd-F is what you are after. Spectacle never actually supported Lion's "Fullscreen" feature.

I admit the name of the Alt-Cmd-F hot key is confusing. This functionality existed in the very first version of Spectacle, which predated Lion by a year or more. Fortunately I plan on renaming this hot key to "Maximize" sometime in the not-to-distant future (see issue #218).

It should be option-command-f I think?
