During a video call, the screen will not rotate when turning the iPhone from portrait to landscape orientation.
Actual result: the video of your partner does not rotate correspondingly. Thus, your conversation partner is not displayed upright but 90掳 turned.
Expected result: the video of your partner should be rotated in correspondence with the orientation of the iPhone.
Note: interestingly, the tiny video of yourself that is taken by the front camera is rotated correctly.
Device: iPhone X, iPhone Air 2
iOS version: 12.4
Signal version: 2.41.0.21
Can confirm this bug persists in the current stable version on the app store.
Device: iPhone XR
iOS version: 13.3.1
Signal version: 3.6.1.4
For debuging purposes: it seems that if you start a call when your phone is already in landscape mode, the video call will be in landscape.
The issue is still here on the iPad app. People tend to use the iPad in horizontal orientation. However, video calls are not rotated. I have contacted the support service a couple of days ago and haven鈥檛 heard anything yet.
Problem still present on Android version - didn't checked the beta version yet
