*Note: Overall Windows 8 has a low percentage of users ~8% but this issue has been reported from some Windows 7 users as well
Having this issue on W10 also.
Having the same problem on Windows 10 64 and v1.6.1
Having this issue on Linux v1.7.1. Did you simply remove the setting from the UI in the meantime? How am I able to set shouldPlayNotificationSound: true manually?
@eNTi We found that sound platform support on Linux was lacking compared to Windows and Mac. We recommend that you look at the notification settings in your window manager and set up any desired sound effects there.
@scottnonnenberg-signal Uh what? Sorry Linux support is lacking compared to Linux? Did you mean MacOS? What do you mean notification settings in my window manager? And why did you disable it in the first place? I was perfectly happy the way it worked before someone borked it?
@eNTi Yep, Windows/Mac is what I meant. From a branding perspective, we removed the old sound effect (which people didn't like), and we now rely on OS sound effects. Does your window manager not have a sound effect setting for notifications?
@scottnonnenberg-signal didn't know that even was a thing... any pointers? i'm running on fluxbox so... probably not natively.
Hi, if anyone has this problem first make sure to enable app notifications in Your system settings.
Still an issue on MacOS desktop version 1.29.3. Notifications are enabled, they will appear but without a sound even tho it is enabled.
Once more for those new to this issue: SIgnal Desktop does not produce sound effects. It relies on your system-level audio settings for notifications.
