Feature request to add support for audio calls in desktop app

Android + iOS apps have video / audio call support, it would be sweet to close that gap for the desktop app and bring functionality to parity and allow users to fully replace e.g. skype et all.

Since I cannot comment in https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/554 which is locked I'd like to ask here: what's the reason it is locked? Since 28 Dec 2015?

Hello, I'm also really interested in this feature! Not having this puts Signal Desktop well behind other apps like Messenger etc. for convenience. It's hard to get people to make the switch to Signal when it's less convenient, even if it is much more secure. I was wondering where this is at in terms of implementation/prioritization, and how big a task this would be to take on for a prospective contributor? P.s. Absolutely love Signal, huge props to all developers/contributors 👏
