My own number appears as an entry in the contacts list on the left, as the first after the set of Signal users I've actually had conversations with.
-Open Signal-Desktop. See own number there.
Actual result: My own number is displayed among the contacts.
Expected result: My own number should not be there, unless I actually choose to have a conversation with myself or have a contact entry with my own number.

This seems to have happened right after upgrading to version 1.0.35 of Signal; before the entry with my own number was not there. Note that I do not have a contact entry with my phone number. If I actually type stuff in a conversation with my own number, only what I type appears on the screen (this is unlike Signal for Android, where the message sent is then duplicated as one received as well). If I delete the conversation the contact entry simply drops back to the top of the list of non-messaged users (unlike with Signal for Android, where the conversation is totally deleted and my own number does not appear as a contact).
Operating System: Ubuntu 16.04
Signal version: Signal 1.0.35
I confirm that too.
May not be a bad thing, though! I started to use it to send secure) notes from my PC to the mobile - Let's keep it? :)
Thats a very nice feature, please not remove it, i used that in Telegram for notes as well. :)
If it's a feature that's fine. But I will say that if your own number is not a contact, nor have you even started a conversation with yourself (which I think should still be supported), then it's inconsistent to have an entry with your number in the contact list—which is why it seemed like a bug to me.
It's absolutely not a problem that you are showing in the conversation list on the side. But I do have one question:
@aibaraiduas Is there anything in that conversation with yourself right now? And, to confirm, there's no name for that number since you don't have yourself as a contact, correct?
@scottnonnenberg I can confirm that I for one show up with my phone number listed first in the contacts list - but it is accompanyied by my profile name, i.e. +[REDACTED]35 ~Alfonso Muskedunder. What's more, in the convo with myself, "I" am also marked as Verified in the header.
@AlfonsoMuskedunder Yep, you should be verified. You trust yourself, right? :0)
I try.
@scottnonnenberg There is nothing in that conversation with myself since I deleted it. And there's no name for the number since I don't have a contact for myself.
