Prusaslicer: 1.42.0-alpha2 UI: Can't get print settings changes to stick

Created on 9 Jan 2019  Â·  5Comments  Â·  Source: prusa3d/PrusaSlicer

Version

Slic3rPE-1.42.0-alpha2+win64-full-201901041551 (alpha 2 release build)

Operating system type + version

Windows 10

Behavior

Many settings applied to print settings do not stick, i.e.:

  • Changing the setting does not mark the profile as modified
  • Saving the profile does not save the changed setting
  • The changed setting does not affect the print

This applies even to default profiles such as MK3 > Print Settings > 0.15mm OPTIMAL MK3

Repro steps:

  1. Go to Print Settings tab
  2. Go to Speed section
  3. Change "External perimeters" speed from 35 to 40
  4. Note that the profile is not marked as modified, and the lock icon next to External perimeters still shows locked (indicates that the value is still the same as the original system preset value)
  5. Save the profile as a new name and reload it (i.e. switch to another profile then switch back)
  6. Value has revered to 35
  7. Even if you enter 40, the new speed is not applied to the print (print time estimate does not change)

_Is this a new feature request?_
no

STL/Config (.ZIP) where problem occurs

New install of Slic3rPE-1.42.0-alpha2+win64-full-201901041551 using default included profiles
No STL needed to repro the bug

Most helpful comment

it is a known unfortunate bug introduced into the alpha2. It was fixed
already, please wait for the next alpha.

I am leaving this issue open until the next release.

Same issue here, same Slic3rPE version.
Using Win10 x64 Pro - Version 1803

Print Settings : Post-processing scripts -> gets lost on restart of Slic3r (and doesn't seems to get executed when starting an export)

Printer-Settings : Custom G-code: ->
can get anything to stick, all lost after restart

Fixed in 1.42.0-alpha3, closing.

I'm still experiencing these behaviors on 2.1.0+win64
