I have a 5K monitor, 5120x1440 resolution. When using Teams if I share my whole desktop, most users are unable to even see my screen due to it being too high of a resolution.
I can share a program with Teams, but when doing a lot of sharing, spreadsheets, powerpoints, browser, etc.. I have to switch the program I am sharing every 30 seconds which wastes a lot of time.
I would like to just share a FancyZone region. Whether this is a collaborative effort with the Teams team, or FancyZones could essentially emulate a monitor in each of its regions, I don't know.
Personally I would love FancyZones to create a monitor driver, and each region is a separate 'monitor' from the point of view of the operating system.
For me, this seems to be a Teams issue and not PowerToys. A possible solution would be for team to share an area, instead of applications or Desktops.
I think one way to think of this would be "Make a FZ zone appear as a secondary monitor" maybe? I can see how this could be useful.

That is one way to do it. But why not use a zone instead of selecting an area? It is more convenient and faster.
Having virtual screens would certainly solve this perfectly. However, I think this should rather be solved in Teams. Zoom, for example, has a feature to only share an area of the screen and it plays along with FancyZones perfectly.
Closing this issue since this feature will not be implemented specifically for Teams.
The general solution is tracked by https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/279
