It is near impossible to recall where a certain menu item in complex programs which have many sub-menus. Ideally they should all be searchable within the system. Some application have started to implement it but it won't be actively used by all since many won't know of it's existence.
Here's how it is on mac:

You can search for anything and it shows you where it is. It doesn't have to be rigid search it can guess some parts. It also shows you if there are any assigned shortcuts to it.
First thing that went through my head when I read this was "yes!". I'm wondering if there could be a way to inject this into the top of every menu in the system. Definitely a great idea to consider how it could be implemented.
I short command like ctrl + S to get the search up and then type for application to go to that or open it.
and also find files and location of that file is good to have. other idees shuld be like Type controllpanel and get a list of all items in it.
this would be cool
@mullcom prob not CTRL S..... .Mac uses Cmd ? and that makes sense for all help related stuff.
I'm going to merge this in with #129. I Think they go together like peanut butter and jelly. Plus you can't do this without #129
Not really. This also helps find where menu is. On windows you need to manually go through all sub menus to find something. That is one of the best parts of this. But whatevs 🤷♂️ I don’t use windows.
