Ontology: restructure unit and related properties

Created on 13 Aug 2020  路  2Comments  路  Source: OpenEnergyPlatform/ontology

Description of the issue

  • unit is an independent continuant. Discuss, if we should classify it as generically dependent continuant.
  • we have the relation _is unit of_ (RO) but no relation _has unit_
  • we are currently unsing _has part_ instead. Is that clean?

Ideas of solution

If you already have ideas for the solution describe them here

Workflow checklist

  • [ ] I discussed the issue with someone else than me before working on a solution
  • [ ] I already read the latest version of the workflow for this repository
  • [ ] The goal of this ontology is clear to me

I am aware that

  • [ ] every entry in the ontology should have a definition
  • [ ] classes should arise from concepts rather than from words

I think it would fit better beneath generically dependent continuant.

I think it would be better to define a property _has unit_ . That would be clearer for users of the ontology.

Shall I implement?
