Notepad3 (x64) v5.20.928.1 beta is freezing

Notepad3 (x64) v5.20.928.1 freezes completely when some text is typed and trying to exit without saving. 😬

Conditions:

• You have to type some text (not saved)
• Then try to close it with the "X", it is completely frozen.

PS: Task Manager, End Task can close it!

hi @hpwamr i updated correctly into Notepad3Portable_5.20.928.1_beta.paf, but as the screenshot shows, i think there're probably some big issues caused by the "floating" stuff as you mentioned above(though i didn't noticed previously)
issues:
as in the 1st screenshot <1st_20200928213834.png> showed: 1st & 2nd points out: the sub-menus is expected to expand/display automatically when the mouse hovering in the menu which has the sub-menus, but it doesn't as in this version(as i remembered, it was ok in previous version);

as in 3rd points out: it can't mark the occurrences while i config it right(this is one of my favorite funtion of NT3);

as in the 2nd screenshot <2nd_20200928214619.png> showed:
it responds slowly, apparently when create 1 new file->randomly write something->keystroke "Esc" to exit the program, then it's as stuck in the background->i only have to Win+d return to desktop then can see the small pop up window("Save changes to...."), other similar scenarios: shift+f11 to see the version as in right; F7 to save the settings.

pls check.

and i downloaded and tested the Notepad3Portable_5.20.927.2_beta.paf.exe, test out to ensure my doubt:

there's no sub-menu issue in this version;
there's no occurrence issue;
there's no slow response issue;
anyway, just with the
...

kind of issue.

i think there're probably some big issues caused by the "floating" stuff as you mentioned above

We are looking into all the changes made yesterday and today, but I don't think this is related to the changes into TinyExp.

Feel free to test the "BETA/RC" version "Notepad3Portable_5.20.928.2_beta.paf" or higher, see below or issue #1129.

• Notepad3Portable_5.20.928.2_beta.paf.exe.7z -s

"Notepad3Portable BETA/RC paf" version can be used with or without ".7z" extension.
To update "Notepad3 Setup" version with the latest features/fixes from the "BETA/RC" version, see issue #1105.
