Notepad3: New release coming soon.

Created on 23 Nov 2017  路  15Comments  路  Source: rizonesoft/Notepad3

I'm creating and uploading a new release tomorrow, if everyone gives me the go-ahead. Please test all the bug fixes before then.

Again; thanks @war59312 @MelchiorGaspar for all the testing. Notepad3 is nothing without you. Then @RaiKoHoff you are Notepad3's backbone. Everyone here will agree that Notepad3 is 500% better since you came aboard. Thank you 馃

Thank you very much - most of the work is based on other peoples components (encryption, regex engines, scintilla, original notepad2, etc.), so: many thanks to them.

@lhmouse Sorry forgot about you. You've also been a 猸愶笍

I appreciate your work, all of you. :seedling:

You misspelled the version number in the commit message of 362972c6b7cbb2ffe9641be77c0f1ff7a87470cd . :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

BTW, the links on https://www.datumza.com/rizonesoft-notepad3/ point to the correct locations but the version numbers on them are 2.17.1023.632 as we speak, thus out of date.

@lhmouse Sorry about the spelling. I'm still busy uploading the new release. Will finish it a little later, just need to handle something else quickly.

@rizonesoft : one remark on version numbers in the build:
The powershell script "Version.ps1" (wrapped by Version.cmd), patches the correct version informations.
It distinguishes between AppVeyor environment (using AppVeyor's internal build number) and a desktop build, where it uses the build number from .\Versions\build.txt, increasing it by 1. The major version number (2) is hard-coded within the script.
It uses .\Versions\*.tpl templates to generate the VersionEx.h and the build-in manifest files accordingly.

@RaiKoHoff I changed the hard-coded major version number to 3 and got build errors on AppVeyor. Today I will be taking a look at why its failing. Do you have any suggestions?

@RaiKoHoff Agreed! We should not forget their hard work and commitment. So, here's a 馃 for them also. I managed to find the AppVeyor issue. The problem was with the Version testing bat file. The major version is hard-coded in it also.

@lhmouse Ok! Datum is updated to the latest version: https://www.datumza.com/rizonesoft-notepad3/

Next time around it will be done much sooner. I had a work crisis that needed taking care of.

@rizonesoft, the download links on rizonesoft.com point to the updated binaries but the text still says build 632:

@craigo- Fixed. Sorry about that.

No problem :)

@rizonesoft : sorry i forgot to tell about the version checking, I iplemented for AppVeyor CI environment ... :-/

@RaiKoHoff no problem. Figured it out in the end.
