Mentorship-android: Adding One Touch Sign In Feature

It is always a very tedious task to use keyboard and type a long password (sometimes, if it follows a specific pattern) and that email id or username just to open that app. Also, remembering the entire password with username/mail-id (when nowadays we have so many ids and passwords to remember) is a very complex task and then another tedious task is to follow that annoying password recovery or reset process.

Describe the solution you'd like

I want to add a feature of fingerprint authentication that means i want to have a one touch sign in method as its a very quick and convenient way of authenticating user's identity and also, one can't forget or need to remember his/her fingerprint.
Also, Fingerprints are unique and impossible to guess and thus, there would not any need to go over the entire process of recovering the password or username.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I will add the one-time sign-in link on to the login page which will allow the user to directly sign-in into the app but only with the condition that the user should be signed up first ie he/she should not be the first time user .
This feature will be working only in android Pie (9.0) or those where fingerprint features are already added in their android devices. So, if the user has already added his/her fingerprint in their device then using same fingerprint they can enter into the app BUT ONLY AFTER SIGNING UP

NOTE:- This is just a Log-in alternative (not sign-up)

Hello @robotjellyzone! It looks very reasonable and useful. However, I'd wait for the current Pull Requests to be merged (after the GCI contest). It is highly probable that there'll be a lot of changes in the codebase, especially that there was quite a few GCI tasks related to improving the login flow.
I'm not a maintainer or anything, but that's what I'd do if I were you :)

Yeah, I know PRs are yet to be merged into the code base, but don't worry the coding team and other mentors of GCI are still in this process of merging those PRs after they will find the best one among them to merge!!

Hi @robotjellyzone I have no current understanding of how this would work technically and i don't have current bandwidth to look at your PR related to this, once it is done. I would like to first give priority to merging code from GCI, and have that solved, and only then focused on other contributions.
So if you wish to start contributing, I don't mind, but you might then get some merge conflicts that you'll have to solve.

Hi there, sorry it's not available as I have already created a solution for this but was waiting till all the GCI PRs get merge so that it may not arise any conflicts.

I think all the prs of GCI are merge so I am just correcting my current solution!!

No @vj-codes this feature needs to be done only in future [as far as i understood the current working of the mentorship-app] as there are many related issues to be done before this like third party auth, recovery password feature so, i think this features needs more discussion .
