I have no clue what that is, but if i google it i get this...
https://www.programmableweb.com/api/mixer

There is also this:
https://dev.mixer.com/

https://dev.mixer.com/rest/index.html#channels_get can't find which fields to filter on

but if someoe submits his mixer url the channel name is the part after the last slash and the before the questionmark, fill that in in the iframe url and you are done. you dont have to overcomplicate it aith api integrations

API integration is required to figure out which streams are online. No one will see a stream among hundreds if it isn't displayed as online.

Ideally there would be an API to get all online channels mentioning the keyword lichess.org or all online channels out of a given list of channels in as few requests as possible.

I couldn't find it yet

Thanks for actually even bothering with this - I really think this could be a great addition to the lichess/streamer collaboration. Is there anything i can do to help? Maybe contact mixer or something? Not entirely sure what we need, but if i can help let me know.

Ideally there would be an API to get _all_ online channels mentioning the keyword lichess.org or all online channels out of a given list of channels in as few requests as possible.

This is exactly what we need

Basicly we have 3 options

1: iterate trough mixer streams each X min
2: ask mixer to implement that feature into the where field of the channels list and wait with the implementation
3: use plan 1 till the requested feature of plan 2 is available

So should i just ask the devs at mixer about exactly what you just mentioned above? I can do that.

i can contact then with the technical speciafications of us. would be an good addition to the API.

https://watchmixer.uservoice.com/forums/382521-mixer-feedback-ideas/suggestions/39000139-api-string-filter-at-channels-endpoint we can upvote my request hoping to get the feature in.

According to the community devs only one dev feature request has mad it to production so far so prapare to go for option 1 or 3.

Wish i knew what any of this meant. Let me ask this, how much effort would it be to do this on a streamer to streamer basis? At this point people are still very scared to just go over to mixer (as streamers) and i get that, But could you add exceptions as they are requested for? Like if you know that the only channel you need to have this done for is the chessdoctors channel would that make live easier (in the short term)? Then as more people start showing interest we can add them and or fix the problem in its entirety?

And yes i realize how selfish that sounds, i just believe that if we get this started it will snowball very quickly and the prospect of having a largely (if not only) lichess chess community on a potential platform like Mixer could be huge for all parties concerned.

An iterator (point 1) isnt a big deal. Get all accepted mixer links fromnthe database anc for eah of them check if it is online an display if it is.

When we have to wait on the filter at the mixer server (they tell me it has low chance of succeeding) they want to have the feature will problably not be implemented (for a long time).

We can help it by upvoting my channels endpoint suggestion in the hope mixer will implement it

Well that is the thing if we start driving viewers to mixer from lichess they will notice and will have good incentive to help/support what ever we need to make this easier on lichess. So the question is just how to do we get started. But ultimately this is lichess's platform and i will stand by them no matter what :)
