Some blindfold players would like to also hide the board as an even more difficult and realistic option. Being able to see the board helps visualization, you don't have to remember which square is which color, etc.
To do this, a new option for "Blindfold chess (invisible board)" could be added to Preferences. Setting this option, should automatically also enable the "input moves with the keyboard" option.
@arex1337 Should invisible board be the only option? Is there a reason to keep a visible board blindfold version?
@greg-finley-ck Good question. I see it as two different difficulties, so it would be nice to have both. Hidden pieces = "easy", hidden board = "hard".

I think the reason is the ability to move invisible peaces. And easier to play when you see the board and square colors.
I'm also interested in this feature. Also, move input always should be visible in hidden board mode.

I can work on it as my lila first issue.
