Hello,
Just to let you know, I did a pass at the french translation on weblate. I'm attaching the diff for reference (because I first started doing in git).
I couldn't find a good translation for "Upvote/Downvote". And in fact, it's a heated debate.
Different things we can think of:
I would go with 1 or 4, but 3 is good too. If there is another french person reading this, please give your opinion :)
An Italian person here. Same problem, more problems there. I saw on Weblate the problem is similar in Castilian.
Which translation may fit better the purpose of the project? Consistency with Reddit is not mandatory.
[edit: two Italian users have a lil' chat [here](https://dev.lemmy.ml/post/32998/comment/4749). For the moment being, it is "voto positivo"/"negativo": that is the fourth Nicolas's option.]
If Like and Dislike are easier in those languages, that works too.
@dessalines This would make it sound exactly like facebook (J'aime / J'aime pas), which is a negative point to me. What do you think?
Its up to you, to me upvote and downvote are close enough to like / dislike, whichever is the simplest way to denote preference in your language.
Well someone finished up the french translation so I don't have to make a choice anymore ;)
