Describe the feature:
In Kibana 5.6.x (and presumably other versions) it was possible to adjust the font color of the metric visualization when just one range was created via Options -> Style -> Back/Text Color. Somewhere in Kibana 6.x (currently we are running 6.6.1) this functionality was removed.
We would very much like this feature again.
Describe a specific use case for the feature:
To be able to visually group single range metrics together (for example, all metrics from one system have the same color. All metrics from another system have another color.)
This makes it visually clearer which metrics belong together.
Pinging @elastic/kibana-app
A workaround for this would be to add a range from 0 to 0, and then a second range from 0 to n
I'm not sure why exactly this was removed in the first place, and whether it was intentional or if it is a regression.
cc @timroes might know more, as it looks like he did some related work in #16093.
Actually it wasn't many other versions that supported that. Kibana 5.6 and 6.0 had a different metrics implementation, which was unfortunately that unstable we had to revert it again. It was only that implementation that supported that feature, so that's a legit enhancement request for the current metrics implementation.
Sorry, didn’t see the dup, I was searching for “background” colour.
This feature is so incredibly useful for creating beautiful dashboards!
Any update on this?
Hi, is it possible yet to add colour text to metric? I can't see any style options Kibana 7.9.3
