Problem:
Handbrake crashing in 3 different scenarios since mid December of nightly versions.
Steps:
Currently running:
HandBrake Nightly 20161224195426-88a31ba-master (2016122501) - 64bit
OS: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.14393.0 - 64bit
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz
Ram: 8098 MB,
GPU Information:
NVIDIA GeForce 920MX - 21.21.13.6909
Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 - 20.19.15.4483
Error Messages:
2 error messages generated from this crash,
one from system "close program to prevent information loss",
another from handbrake "handbrake has stopped working".
N.B.
This Handbrake was tested on 2 different computers.
The crash only occurred in laptop with i5 generation 6, Ram 8GB.
No crash or any issue with desktop with i7 bloomfield, Ram 24GB.
Would be good to see the full encode log(s): https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/help/activity-log.html
3rd step of the problem
3 videos in queue. Number 1 encoded but number 2 didn't encode and left 2.31KB file and crashed.

Can you try "Disable QSV Decoding" in Preferences -> Video please.
If that works, it's a known issue.
Ticked "Disable QuickSync Decoding" and restarted handbrake and resumed from Number 2 in queue.
Not working, same thing happened again, number 2 video encoded successfully but number 3 didn't, crashed and left 2.31KB file.
Don't resume the queue, It has the configuration state locked at the point it was added. So you'd nede to clear the queue and re-add.
Also, are you able to share a sample of the file that won't encode?
Yes, it's working now after clearing the queue and re-added the files, state locked was the problem after disabling the QSV. So, it's already known issue and that means no mix queue video item between h.265 and h.265 (intel QSV) that currently not possible in handbrake?
HandBrake now supports QSV decoding with any video encoder. (including x265). However, it looks like it's slightly more problematic than hoped, so disabling it fixes the issue. So it falls back to just software decoding, as the previous 0.10.5 release used to do.
Anything added to your queue after you change the setting, will honour that setting so you should be fine to continue.
One last thing, are you able to share a sample source file that was tripping up the QSV decoder?
Yes, it was possible to reproduce the problem with this sample file.
All i did was copy and duplicate the sample file 2 times, scan these 3 files and add into the queue.
Result was as usual 1st file encoded and crash at 2nd with unticked "Disable QuickSync Decoding".
I noticed the time duration doesn't matter but when the file size is big it will crash, small sized file doesn't seems to be affected. I hope that helps, Thanks.
Fixed on master (forthcoming nightly builds) and 1.0.x branch: https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/commit/6b633b8f6b3f19433ca8a3d42affd737ca726f5d
Well, it's not going to bother people so much, but I'd still like to get max or tim to take a gander at that source.

can you please try recent driver available from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26563/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-45-?product=88193 ?
HB todays Nightly with newest QSVdriver (see above maximd33) crashes just after

@maximd33
i used the same old BBB-standard-version from ealier http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/
same as in your link with ---> 1080p .mov, 9min 56sec, 691MB
works fine with new rel 1.0.3
Thanks for letting us know.
