Franz: Cannot use Microsoft Teams from Linux - deliberately blocked

Created on 5 Sep 2019  路  1Comment  路  Source: meetfranz/franz

Describe the bug
When on Linux and trying to use Microsoft Teams through Franz, I instead see a custom webpage saying that Teams for Linux is still being developed. This appears to be a deliberate change on Microsoft's part. There is no way to get past this page or make it go away.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Be on Linux
  2. Open any Microsoft Teams service that you set up previously.
  3. Log in if you need to. (If your login is saved then you will just see the problem immediately.)

Expected behavior
I can actually _use_ Microsoft Teams

Desktop:

  • OS: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
  • Browser(?): the Franz client
  • Version: 5.0.0

Additional context:
It is still possible to use Teams from a web browser on Linux, I have done it with Chromium.

Most helpful comment

I was able to get around this by destroying and re-creating the Teams service. Either that or Microsoft pushed a change.
