Desktop: No Prompt For Desktop Shortcut Creation

Created on 23 Feb 2020  路  3Comments  路  Source: standardnotes/desktop

I am on Ubuntu 18.04 and don't get one all of a sudden.

I can no longer have a menu option for Standard Notes.

I do have desktop-file-utils installed. What's wrong?

I believe this issue refers to when you install an AppImage on Linux the first time, it should present some sort of dialog that says, "Do you want to create desktop shortcuts for this app?". But I don't believe this is possible anymore with the AppImage. Could you try the Snap? https://snapcraft.io/standard-notes

AppImage no longer supports desktop integration out of the box. You'll need to use something like appimaged or AppImageLauncher. Or download the app from the Snap store.
