Dash-to-panel: Can't update to v38

Describe the bug

When trying to update to v38 (from v37), installation failed with the following error:

TypeError: taskbarLocationCombo is null

After logging out and back in, I was successfully able to install it, but some of my preferences are lost.

Hello, please restart gnome-shell.

It would be handy to give the command to restart gnome shell.

killall -SIGQUIT gnome-shell

did the trick for me,
