If I remove the previous installation and reinstall it works fine from gnome.extensions.org

Happy to create a PR for this if someone could point me in the right direction.

I just tried installing the 67 version rpm from the fedora 31 updates repo and couldn't log back in to gnome-shell. had to drop to console and uninstall the package.

Similar error here...

I had the same issue after upgrading to fedora 31, however after installing v67 manually (downloaded zip file and then enabled extension) it is working perfectly

Is this reproducible or was it a one off error? Extension update in a running system is something that is not meant to be supported (e.g., https://gitlab.gnome.orhttps://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/merge_requests/153#note_308039g/GNOME/gnome-shell/merge_requests/153#note_308039), so if the problem is soved for everybody after a full restart I would consider this not a bug.

I don't think I explained it well enough. I had this extension running perfectly fine on Fedora 30. I updated to 31 and the extension stopped working. I removed it completely from my system and installed fresh and it errors with the above every time.

So the error occurred after an update. Did you reboot the machine? Can you still reproduce the problem?

I had the extension error after upgrading to F31 and updating the extension via the gnome extensions website - was still errorring after the update (and possibly after restart). The issue resolved after restarting and installing some system updates.

Closing then as it seems resolved on your end and it would be difficult to debug this. reopen the issue if the problem occurs again.

Up to you obviously but not resolved for me. I have restarted multiple times. All updates installed.

@StephenCoady Ops, sorry. So you are still getting the above error? Can you confirm which version you are running and sourced from where? Can you give a try to current master?

OK, so I gave this another go this morning and got it working on Fedora 31 with gnome-shell 3.34.1. That's with using master. However, installing from extensions.gnome.org doesn't work at all. I'm not sure what version that uses but maybe its a smaller issue or that site hasn't been updated yet.

I also couldn't install from gnome.extensions.org, but got it to work by cloning here. The install from the gnome.extensions.org only seems to fail when upgrading an existing install of dash-to-dock, installing to a user without the extension works fine from gnome.extensions.org. So it would appear to be only an upgrade issue.

When installing into a previous install,

One last note for anyone who encounters this issue. While it works installing from source, it is not completely bug-free. It causes a bug whereby once I log in after locking my screen gnome crashes and I need to log in again except now my state isn't saved. I have narrowed it down to this extension so I've had to completely uninstall for now.

I can confirm... same issue. In Fedora 30, I had my dock appear on the left side when I'd just mouse-over anywhere to the left side of my screen. Now I have to move the cursor to the top left to open the Activies overview =\ Amateur Fedora user here... not really a good programmer. Hoping there is a fix.

EDIT: Just re-installed it through Software and rebooted. I had to redo my settings. Works how I want again.
