Client: Please do not ever make top level directory like /keybase

Created on 21 Nov 2017  路  5Comments  路  Source: keybase/client

I see an empty top level /keybase directory on a Linux system - please do not do that. Never. Create a directory where it might be appropriate, but never in the root dir. Thanks.

Perhaps /mnt/keybase would be a less surprising mount point.

Why? It鈥檚 a fuse mounting point, not a folder.

@dabura667 It's not professional or tidy to create syslinks or mounts in root, use the appropriate folder.

There are two sides to this, right? There is 'the right place', which varies based on OS, and there is a 'consistent place', where the people at keybase have chosen to be /keybase/... @KakolIsSomewhatGay - What do you think 'the appropriate folder' is?

Perhaps /mnt/keybase would be a less surprising mount point.

@Cinderhaze I would consider /mnt/keybase to be a more sensible option opposed to having it in root.
