Client: Login to Device with no Device access

Hello,

I have reset my computer and I installed the Keybase App again, now i want to login and use this device as my previous device. But Keybase want that I confirm the change with the windows app, which i currently installing. The same happens on Android. Can i confirm the change of my Device via Browser? I didn't find Informations for that in the documentation.

You need to reset your account if you are down to 0 working devices. There is no other possibility cryptographically. If there were we could read your encrypted data which is obviously a bad thing.

@maxtaco what does it mean to "reset your account"? I am in this scenario myself where I created a keybase account, added a device, then wiped that device without saving a backup. I can still log in to keybase.com account but cannot add any devices.

It means that you throw away all of your keys, your chat, KBFS data, your followers, etc. Almost all of your state is gone, with the exception of your username, which you get to reuse. But otherwise, your account behaves as if it's fresh.

There's no other option. If we could recover your account, we could use this ability maliciously to decrypt your data and signing keys.

I'm in the same boat here, but I do have access to my Keybase private key. Can the account be recovered using that?
