Usage

issue

Description

Returns a URL that takes the user to the right place in the CLI GitHub repo to create a new issue reporting bug, feedback, ideas, etc.

Options

Just the standard options. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, we could expose additional options.

Additional Information

To keep things simple for the users, this command is a top-level command without a namespace.

Investigate:

  • is it possible to automatically open the browser instead of just showing the link? If the browser can't be opened for some reason (eg. running the CLI in Docker), the command would still need to show the link
  • is it possible to prefill the title and type of feedback, eg. bug, idea, feedback

Hey @plamber, are you still working on this?

Yes

@waldekmastykarz I have issues at this moment to focus on this project I was used to do a couple of months ago. Therefore, I wanted to ask you if it would be possible to remove me from this task. Maybe somebody else in the community is taking it up before me.

I will come back to these commands and other commands working on them if nobody else is doing it and if I have the necessary time to focus on them if you do not mind.

Considering that GitHub now has its own CLI that would provide this functionality, would we need this command?

The idea was to provide a convenience options for Office 365 CLI users. I don't think all our users have the GitHub CLI installed, so I'd say the use-case stands, unless you think otherwise.

Thanks for letting us know of your change in circumstance @plamber
