Cli-microsoft365: Upgrading from 1.5.1-plusbeta to 1.6 error

Created on 7 Sep 2018  路  8Comments  路  Source: pnp/cli-microsoft365

Hi guys,

I'm trying to run the upgrade commands 'spfx project upgrade' on my project (version 1.5.1-plusbeta) and I'm getting 'Error: Project doesn't need to be upgraded'.

Does the cli 1.6.0 support for upgrade from 1.5.1-plusbeta?

Can anyone advice me.

This is my environment setup:
Windows 10
sharepoint framework version 1.6.0
Office365-cli version 1.6.0

Thank you
Mugilan

Hey @muges01, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, at this moment, we don't support upgrading from 1.5.1-plusbeta. It's definitely something that we should consider though. Hopefully we'll have some better news in the future.

Thank you @waldekmastykarz for the fast reply. Since it's not supported then i'll close this ticket.

Hi @waldekmastykarz when i try to run the upgrade commands 'spfx project upgrade' on my project (version 1.5.1) and I'm getting the same error. Why is that?

SPFx v1.5.1 is the latest version supported by CLI v1.6.0. If you want to upgrade to SPFx v1.6.0 you have to install the latest beta of the CLI: npm i -g @pnp/office365-cli@next

Thank you.
Is there anyway i can find out what is the SPFx support versions by CLI vX.X.0 in the future?

Yes, the supported versions are listed in the command help: o365 spfx project upgrade --help

Thank you very much @waldekmastykarz . That was really helpful.

My pleasure!
