To be able to build against x86 running retropie on Ubuntu or similar

@Shawson
No, it's currently for ARM only.
Maybe at some point in the future...
Would you have any objection to me porting your boot-data stuff over to be able to boot up whdload games under winuae4? I have a basic proof of concept running locally and just need to script the stuff around it which extracts the lha's to the game-data folder each time? Was thinking of upload the result to github somewhere as it could be handy for other winuae users?
Winuae can already mount lha files. Just load Classic Workbench (or similar workbench) and mount the lha as an archive. FS-UAE can also run lha files directly, no need for a slow AMOS booter ! Or were you thinking something completely different ?
I was after the fs-uae style direct loading of lha files- I need it to be as simple as possible as I'm using it in an arcade I'm building.
@Shawson
No objection from me, but better check with @HoraceAndTheSpider as the booter is his project really...
@Shawson please go ahead. The booter was originally conceived to work with FS-UAE and allow access to the CUSTOM options menus.
Please message me on FB or similar if you'd like to discuss any of how it works etc.

Many people may not want to load a whole Classic WB before loading games... you cannot set individual game configs/setups on load (e.g. custom controls) and, somewhat ironically, you would be slowing down the boot time.

Is this comment really necessary? You have made your opinion regarding the booter well known already. There are benefits to the booter which are not present on FS-UAE, and in fact it was designed with that in mind but has been further adapted for use here. You are free to use whatever software you like on Amiberry, or other flavours of UAE, but this sort of comments do not add any value to the discussion.
Great stuff, thank you. I can't say I've ever had issues with the speed of Amos and your guys booter is by far the slickest I've come across on the Amiga emulation scene.
Yes- running games without having to install Workbench is what I was after- to be able to launch a game just as I would with FS-UAE or any other emulator. My AmiBerry experience has spoilt me, and running WinUAE on Windows felt like a real step back.
I've got WinUAE to boot an lha manually, setting up the DH0/DH1 etc to point relevant folders and manually extracting the lha- so I just need to put together a script for it and I'm away- It all just worked with hardly any tinkering!
